Freelance Junior Graphic Designer Application

YA Creative Design is a creative studio that helps develop branding and provides design solutions for companies of all sizes. YA Creative is rapidly growing and looking to add a talented Junior Graphic Designer who is knowledgeable and skilled in all aspects of design to the team.

This position is part-time, hourly based, contract and remote

The Junior Graphic Designer in this role will work directly with the founder and lead creative of the company and support in any design projects assigned to them.


Tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Jumping into a design project that has already been started

  • Managing a design project from start to finish

  • Working on edits for an ongoing project

  • Preparing final files for clients

  • Preparing files for print production

  • Creating designs based off of a provided design brief 

  • Concepting new designs

  • Photo editing

  • Social media graphics

  • Email designs

  • Presentation layout and designs

  • Brochure and flyer designs

  • Website page designs

  • Packaging / label designs and file prep for production

  • Logo design

  • Illustration and icon designs

  • Marketing materials designs

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Meeting deadlines

  • Being responsive in email and all communications

  • Paying close attention to detail on all projects

  • Working under tight deadlines

  • Following and sticking to design brief and project direction

  • Following client’s brand guidelines, look and feel while still being creative and unique

  • Attending zoom meetings or phone calls

  • Keeping design files organized

  • Collaborate with other designers and be open to feedback and critique 

  • Know the difference between setting up and working on digital files VS. print files

  • Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, Powerpoint, Google Docs, Google Drive

  • Balance multiple projects and work effectively under pressure

    Requirements:

  • An inspiring and strong portfolio showing strategic, conceptual and creative design work

  • knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Powerpoint, Google Docs, Google Drive

  • Efficient at file creation, editing and preparation

  • Creative problem solver and collaborator who listens to others’ ideas

  • Talented designer who always strives for great creative and strategic results

  • Effective communication skills, a willingness to ask questions and chase answers

  • Patient, flexible, positive attitude

  • Takes initiative and can work effectively without close supervision
