Westhill Educational Foundation Grant Application Form

This form MUST be completed to be considered for a Westhill Educational Foundation grant. Any other method will not be accepted. Please direct any questions or issues encountered to westhillfoundationgrants@gmail.com. In addition, this email address should be utilized to submit backup information for your grant, including, but not limited to, a budget breakdown, long-term operation and maintenance plan, and any additional information pertinent to grant evaluation not included in the Form. “Funds Requested” in Section 3, is the total you are requesting from the Westhill Educational Foundation, any contributions from Arts in Education or other sources should be deducted.

Complete grant applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis until the annual budget is reach or the end of June. Your grant application is not considered complete until all questions and backup information is provided to the Foundation. To expedite receiving a complete application status, it is recommended that each Section of the Form be thoroughly completed, and any pertinent information be provided to the above email address. The Foundation meets the first week of every month during the school year and will review grants received the previous month. The only exception: grants received during July and August will be reviewed in September. A minimum of seven (7) days is required to process complete grants, any incomplete grants or grant applications received less than seven (7) days prior to a scheduled meeting will be addressed at the following month’s meeting. The Foundation’s meetings are posted on the Westhill District Calendar. Grant applicants should anticipate the following communication via email from the Foundation: 1) receipt of application, 2) Notice of Incomplete/Complete Application, and 3) funding decision.

We will notify you by email to acknowledge receiving your application and will reach out to you by phone and by email with our funding decision once we have completed our review.

Purpose and Criteria
The purpose of our grant program is to enrich student learning and enhance the instructional programming in our schools. We award grants to teachers for innovative projects that encourage creative teaching methods. Grants may be awarded for experiential learning and/or expanding students’ understanding of the curriculum.

To score well, your proposal should meet one or more of the following criteria:
• Serve as an opportunity for enrichment that cannot be funded through the normal school budget
• Offer the possibility of continued impact for more than one year
• Offer expanded opportunities for application in other curricula and use by other educators
• Demonstrate innovative approaches or methodologies
• Anticipate, encourage, or reflect the expanded use of technology
• Impact as large a number of students as possible
• Encourage partnership with other funding sources (such as Arts In Education)
• Is consistent with the Westhill Schools’ curriculum and NY State Standards
• Serve as an effective pilot for possible future programs
