2025/26 Advanced Hockey Skills Application
Complete the following application to apply for the SD#23 Advanced Hockey Skills Program. The program is open to AAA Okanagan Rockets U15, U17 & U18 teams & AAA Okanagan Lakers. If space is available, we will add players from AA Zone programs.

IMPORTANT: 
  • I will be meeting with individual school administrators to help structure student timetables, so they enable students to participate.
  • The SD#23 Advanced Hockey Skills Program will be working with the minor hockey representatives to create the list of players eligible for the program.
  • 2024/25 had two classes: Jr. (Gr. 8 - 10) & Sr. (Gr. 10-12). Likely we will have the same for 2025/26 school year.
SD#23 ADVANCED SKILLS PROGRAM COST:  Full Year (100 hours of ice) $2800

Hockey Skills Academy Program Fees/Deposit Information.(Please Read) *
You will receive an email from the Central Okanagan Public Schools (COPS) board office with payment instructions for the deposit and program fees. The $250.00 non-refundable deposit is due May 1st. Please check yes that you are aware that the SD#23 Hockey Skills Academy Program has a $250.00 non-refundable deposit. If deposit is not made, student may be removed from Hockey Academy. Any non-refundable deposit will only be refunded for one of the following reasons:

  1. Hockey Academy class has been canceled or no room in the class.

  2. Due to injury or illness and not able to participate (confirmed by physician).

  3. If class is full and your spot can be filled by another student to recuperate the costs.

  4. Student/Athlete Contract Information (Please read) *
As a student/athlete in the Central Okanagan Public Schools Hockey Academy, I will:
  1. Perform to the best of my abilities in all my classes, which includes Hockey Academy;
  2. Attend all of my classes  unless I have a serious reason for absence;
  3. Be on time for all of my classes;
  4. Abide by all  school rules and it’s Code of Conduct;
  5. Not bully or attempt to injure any of my Hockey Academy classmates;
  6. Wear SD#23 Jersey and dress in full gear.

Failure to follow the above criteria may result in suspension/removal from SD#23 Hockey Skills Academy. Please make sure you read this over with your child who is applying for the program. By checking the box you to agree to all aspects of the student/Athlete contract.

Please Note: To ensure that fees do not prohibit student participation, the Board will facilitate fair and confidential procedures to allow participation by students who would otherwise be excluded. Please contact the school Principal to discuss and explore options to recover the fees.
