We are seeking parents, students, and other community members to sign up as Value Peers
As a Value Peer, you will play a key role in supporting and mentoring other students. You will assist with programs such as Chess Lessons/Tournaments, Creative Writing, STEM, Swimming, and Watch Me Grow in the Garden, Mal Defender Club, Mal Defender Club PLUS as well as participate in events like the Winter Community Event/School Supply Drive in January, the Mal Defender Bike Walk Run in August, and other community vendor events throughout the year.  Our fundraiser, our Human Slots Machine and Mal Defender mascot and handler.

(Location: North Phoebus Community Center. Hands-on workshops in coding, electronics, and robotics.) Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Swimming/Competitive Swimming
(Location: Hampton University. Learn swimming techniques and prepare for competitions.) Classes TBD
Watch Me Grow in the Garden
(Location: North Phoebus Community Center. Hands-on gardening and horticulture.) (Classes TBD
 Mal Defender Club (quarterly in-person meetings) North Phoebus Community Center; Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon; Monthly Zoom meetings
Mal Defender Club PLUS:  North Phoebus Community Center in partnership with Bryan Elementary School.  Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. (We work with a group of 10 pre-registered students improving reading, writing, and other areas in a fun and creative way) NOTE: it's an afterschool tutoring program without calling it an afterschool tutoring program so that students can have fun learning.
