ie-cyber.orgThe National Security Agency has sponsored a program in Southern California for community development called the Inland Empire Cybersecurity Initiative (IECI). With this grant, the CSUSB cyber program is supporting paid cyber apprenticeships!
It all starts with the K-12 exploration phase targeting middle and high schools to identify talent and develop students through the start of their cybersecurity pathways. Contact Tomorrow's Talent for ways middle & high school students can start preparing now at
tomorrowstalent.org.
Community college and CSUSB freshmen/sophomores can participate in our pre-apprenticeship program designed to prepare you for CSUSB's baccalaureate, tier 2 apprenticeship placement. Among the hundreds of students taking advantage of apprenticeship opportunities, 30 students are selected annually for this cyber pre-apprenticeship program. Upon completion, 15 of the 30 students are then selected for grant-supported apprenticeships during their CSUSB upperclassman term (junior, senior, graduate) beginning that following academic year.
If you are attending RCC, MVC, or currently a CSUSB student, apply now for the cybersecurity pre-apprenticeship program and a chance to earn free university tuition and additional IECI grant support. Other community colleges of the region may apply, understanding that their program would start on their transfer year to CSUSB. For more info on this, view the
IECI website and contact the Cybersecurity Center at 909-537-3134.
