WISE Twin Cities is excited to expand its board, opening up new opportunities for members to get involved, work alongside a dynamic group of professionals, gain new experience and serve our community!

The WISE mission is to empower women in the business of sports with the tools to reach their career goals. Through peer support, mentoring programs and professional development and training, we strive to help members maximize their potential, sharpen their skills and advance their careers at every stage of their professional journeys.

Board Expectations
All Board members commit to creating a space and forum for local board volunteers to collaborate, grow professionally and make an impact on the WISE Twin Cities community and beyond, with the following principles;
  • Work together to identify and accomplish realistic goals and expectations each year
  • Focus on communication and intentional planning that allow for support, collaboration
  • Collaborate to provide quality resources, programming and events through operational excellence, fiscal responsibility and prioritization
 
Key Board Expectations:
  • Maintain WISE Membership
  • Understands, acknowledges and adheres to WISE Twin Cities bylaws
  • Fulfill agreed upon responsibilities and efforts within their role
  • Communicate/request assistance needed with team and fellow board when conflicts arise that may prevent them from accomplishing duties/responsibilities
  • Ensure all key WISE TC documents and data are stored on the google drive
  • Lead with strong board communication and collaboration
  • Provide necessary committee updates across board through monthly board meetings and slack
  • Plan properly when providing working requests to other board members – include deadlines and details
  • Attend all applicable national and local board meetings to their position
  • Proactively provide meeting notes and topics that maintain transparent communication, and meaningful updates for their position
  • If you cannot attend, a proxy should be sent in their place or notes/updates
Additionally, each board member should make reasonable effort to:
  • Attend majority of Signature events and programs
  • Serve as an ambassador and promoter of WISE, its mission and its initiatives
  • Promote and drive attendance to WISE events and programs
  • Recruit new WISE Members and partners
  • Assist with identifying mentors and speakers
Board of Director & Committee Positions

BOARD CHAIR, SPONSORSHIP 

  • Term: 3 years
  • Est Time Commitment: 2-8 hours per month
  • Overview: Responsible for fostering new and existing relationships with corporate sponsors for the local chapter.
  • Leveraging network to identify new prospective partners
  • Identify verticals and partnership levels that fit closely with WISE TC community (i.e. sport organizations, venues, hotel, media, financial services, health and fitness, etc.) 
  •  Build and maintain strong relationships with existing partners
  • Serve as the liaison to partners contacts, and board expert on partner contracts to effectively deliver all assets and activations, and proactively manage upcoming renewal conversations for each partner
  • Collaborate with the board and committees to ensure partner contracts are being executed by providing proactive communication, and direction to each area 
  • Effectively lead the Sponsorship Committee 

EVENT LEAD (EVENTS COMMITTEE)

  • Term: 3 years
  • Est Time Commitment: 4-10 hours per month
  • Overview: Support the execution of 8 to 10 events each year. Lead program creation, run of show, staffing assignments and overall logistics for each event. Work with Committee Chair to finalize marketing communications/social media, registration set up and timelines. Serve as a liaison for event communicating board support needs, budget oversight and registration updates.

SOCIAL MEDIA (MARKETING COMMITTEE MEMBER) 

  • Term: 2 years
  • Est Time Commitment: 2-8 hours per month
  • Overview: Creatively drive engagement through social media channels (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIN). Promote upcoming events, feature member content and amplify relevant content that supports the WISE TC mission and community. Follow and be aware of other chapter social media best practices. 

CONTENT WRITER (MARKETING COMMITTEE MEMBER) 

  • Term: 2 years
  • Est Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per month
  • Overview: Someone with a passion for writing, amplifying the WISE Twin Cities stories that are part of the community. Capture event content, build newsletter stories and identify ways WISETC can engage with its community through its digital platforms.
