San Juan County / Friday Harbor Emergency Management Hazard Mitigation Survey
San Juan DEM is currently completing Natural Hazard Mitigation planning. Part of this effort is to seek community input about natural hazards and ways to lesson the impact of a natural disaster. Natural Hazard Mitigation planning is required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to be eligible to receive some types of funding from FEMA. Your response to this survey will help to understand the concerns of the island community about natural hazards and can help direct mitigation activities to reduce the impact of future hazard events.

Some questions in the survey are suggested by the FEMA "Local Mitigation Planning Handbook", and some were added to develop local information.

If you have any questions about this survey, how it will be used or natural hazard mitigation, please call 370 - 0587 or email sjhazardmitigation@gmail.com.
