Education Sail Registration 2025
Thank you for your interest in our Field Trip Program!
Education Sail season is from April 25th - October, we are currently booking the month of May and June 2025
Programs are typically 4 hours and run from 10 to 2pm. Times can be adjusted based on your transportation availability. 
Trips are offered Wednesday-Friday. Other days may be available on request.

Our Educational Program includes a sail with education stations and shore side activities when at our home port (Bivalve, Port Norris). Education Sails are available in other ports, but do not include land-based portions.
The AJ Meerwald Education Sails have a limit of 45 total passengers (including students and adults). The cost per 45 passengers is $1500. 

A double sail (for groups larger than 45 people) can be accommodated in one day. The cost of a double sail is $3000
A signed contract is required to hold your selected dates. 
We ask for a 50% deposit (or Purchase Order for full amount) within 2 weeks of receipt of contract to complete registration unless other arrangements have been made.

  • Norfolk, VA “Harborfest” - June 5th - June 8th *Tickets sold by Harborfest.

  • Bivalve, NJ (Home Port) - June 13th -17th

Summer 

  • Cape May Ferry Terminal in Cape May, NJ - June 18th - July 6th

  • Barnegat/ Toms River - July 9th -13th

  • Atlantic Highlands - July 16th - 20th

  • Liberty State Park - July 23rd - 27th

  • Cape May - August 1st - September 21st 

Fall

  • Philadelphia - Delaware River & Bay Commission September 24th - 28th  

  • Bivalve, NJ (Home Port) - Oct 3rd - 12th

  • GCB Schooner Race - Oct 14th - 19th

  • Downrigging Festival - Oct 31st - November 2nd

Your trip will include 3-4 stations aboard the AJ Meerwald- Navigation, Life in the Bay, and an Oysterman's Day.
Onshore activities will include Meet the Oyster, Shoreside Trades (Shucking station and Shipping Sheds) and How to Protect the Bay.
Do any members of your group have special needs that we should be aware of? The Bayshore Center is fully ADA compliant. The AJ Meerwald can provide accommodations.
