Mrs. Rizzi is a Las Vegas native who attended CCSD from K-12, including the magnet program at A-TECH. She was in the first full graduating class, so she knows first-hand the challenges that new magnet programs face. She also has many CCSD teachers in her family, so she has a lot of historical and background information about how the district works. As a mother, she have one child currently attending Lied Middle School and another that attends Richard Bryan Elementary School. She has spent several years volunteering in classrooms and with SOT boards. Professionally, she is a Certified School Risk Manager (CSRM) as well as a local business owner. She holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees from UNLV in Psychology and Criminal Justice as well as an MBA with an emphasis in Servant Leadership from Grand Canyon University. She is currently the Chair of the Women’s Research Institute of Nevada Community Advisory Board at UNLV and has been involved in several non-profit & trade organizations on a local/state and national level – including lobbying for funding and legislative change. She spent much of the summer with legislators advocating for changes to the Nevada Plan and other funding structures in an effort to relieve CCSD budget cuts She is a nationally published columnist, speaker, and leadership training facilitator. Most importantly, she is a passionate woman of action and can get things done!
Mr. Cairo currently has a son in 1st grade. He is excited to take on a more active role in the school and the community. His background involves working with youth, specifically at-risk youth and their families. He served on the Board for the YMCA and the NAACP, both in Amarillo, TX. He has a lot to offer RHB.
Mr. Raskin currently has a son in 1st grade and is excited to become more involved in RHB. He served on a School Organizational Team during the 2018-2019 school year and is excited to help out again.
Jeana Taylor (Blackman) - Jeana is running for re-election as a parent representative on the SOT board in order to maintain high RHB standards in a tough financial environment. She continues to advocate for more funding in the legislature and is excited about the after-school computer lab time and the addition of Certified Temporary Tutors (CTTs). She has a strong understanding of the various policy considerations and a strong understanding of policy process. Her time with the SOT board and her budget experience as an HOA board member has helped her navigate the financial situation. Having a 2nd Grader and a Preschooler means she has a desire for long term improvement. She will keep working to pursue avenues for more money - from fundraising directly for the school to reaching out to legislators about the need for greater funding in the district. Jeana is resourceful and creative in working with others. She will also continue to explore innovative (meaning inexpensive!) ways to provide a richer community for the school.
