Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco (HGSF) is committed to partnering with CBO’s and community members in Bayview Hunter’s Point to preserve and create affordable homeownership and improve the quality of life for residents.

To date, HGSF has built seven affordable homes for low income homeowners in the neighborhood, and has plans to build several more as part of the India Basin development. Since 2012, we’ve also completed 101 home repairs for low income homeowners, focusing on critical repairs that reduce the risk of displacement and ensure that the homeowner can stay in their home and in the community. Our Gardens and Parks Initiative in brings together volunteers and community groups to maintain and improve community gardens, city parks, and open space in neighborhood. Based on demand and interest, we’ve increasingly focused on partnerships with nonprofit community garden programs.

With more than ten years of service in the Bayview Hunters Point community, HGSF wants to ensure that our programs continue to meet the needs of residents and the neighborhood as a whole. At this feedback session, Habitat aims to share our work to date, get feedback on the impact we are having, and seek advice and perspectives for our work going forward.
