The sooner you reserve a date the better. You should reserve a date that works for your Area Clubs, and is the best date for your Contest Chair, Judges, other contest officials. This form is ONLY used to establish your contest date on the District 57 - no more than two different Area Contests may fall on the same date in February. No Division Contests may fall on the same date in March. Contest dates cannot fall on D57 Calendar Blackout Days in order to respect the diversity of our members that makes up the nearly 1800 individual members of D57.
Area or Division Directors are assumed to have a major role in planning, implementing, and participating in holding their contest. It is advised to have a Contest Chair that knows the ropes of an online contest. All roles must be secured by the Area Director and the Contest Chair. Make sure that you read the 2023-2024 Toastmaster Contest Rule Book, AND consult with D57 Contest Co-Chairs Venkat Raman and Ananda Sen, as well as Chief Judge Hans Thoma to plan your contests, trouble shoot questions, and verify that all procedures are followed. Look for and attend any D57 Contest trainings in order to help plan the best contest possible. Please follow the d57tm.org Contest resources as they are updated.
