Longtime Leaven member Ty Adams is hosting a Christmas Tree Fundraiser for Leaven on the forested land his family stewards. Once planted with several patches of Noble Fir Christmas trees, the land is now being lovingly restored for greater biodiversity. Part of that work means removing some overgrown and densely planted trees that are the same species, age, and location β giving the forest more room to thrive and helping to prepare the site for the youth camp the Adams intend to create.
Youβre invited to visit the Adams family land, get a pre-cut (or cut down your own) tree for your celebration of Christmas or the Winter Solstice, and make a donation to Leaven in the amount you might normally spend on a holiday tree. Those who like making holiday wreaths from boughs are also welcome to come and gather.Β
- All of the trees are Noble Firs with a more spacious limb pattern. Most of them are a little on the wild side and not the perfectly coiffed type youβd find in a traditional tree lot.Β
- Bathrooms and covered deck will be available but bring your mud boots.
