CinéDOC-Tbilisi announces an open call for Civil Pitch 2020 – a unique opportunity for creative collaborations between Georgian filmmakers and civil society representatives. The project is designed to connect filmmakers and non-governmental organizations in order to turn the public’s attention towards relevant issues that are often left in the shadow.
Selected filmmakers and NGO representatives will take part in a three-day training led by international tutors. The training is designed to prepare and to give sufficient practice and feedback to the selected participants.
The dates of the training are 23, 24, 25 April 2020. Selected projects will be presented on 26 April to a panel of international documentary professionals attending the CinéDOC-Tbilisi International Documentary Film Festival.
As a result, two projects will be awarded by the Open Society Georgia Foundation, and one project will receive a special award from the Current Time TV.
The winners of Civil Pitch 2020 will finalize their film projects - creative documentary films with a duration of 10 to 15 minutes - by December 20, 2020.
The training will be conducted in English, hence, high proficiency in English is required.
Who can apply?
- Georgian filmmakers who look for interesting collaboration and project ideas in order to direct high quality and powerful creative documentary films with the expertise and assistance of an NGO/Initiative group. The films created within the project must have a potential to be screened at film festivals, CinéDOC-Tbilisi and various TV channels.
