How it works!
Greetings!

There is a massive demand for books, magazines, and literature, in Broome County Jail.

The Broome County Jail Book Breakout! allows us to pair inmate names with residents willing to ship books to the facility.

STEPS:

1) Submit this form.

2) You will be contacted via email with the name of a current inmate in BCJ.

3) You will then ship no more than two (2) paperback books (and/or three magazines) to the inmate via the following mailing address using Amazon:

[INMATE NAME]
PO BOX 2047
BROOME COUNTY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY - SHERIFF S OFC
BINGHAMTON, NY 13902-2047

TIPS: Inmates have requested a variety of books, including novels, non-fiction, magazines, puzzle books (crosswords, mahjong, etc), and poetry. Try to send things that are compelling and entertaining. Jail can be incredibly boring. We are working to coordinate specific requests from inmates at a later date. We will keep you posted.

FAQ:

Question: Isn't Amazon an evil company?
