Choosing to take an AP exam has multiple benefits for a high school student: Due to its academic rigor, it helps develop solid study habits, thus better preparing students for college. It also makes students stand out on their college applications. Additionally, if a student scores a 3, 4, or 5 on an AP exam, s/he can earn college credit and also skip introductory college classes. This varies by college; please check with your college(s) of interest in that regard.
