Join us for the launch of our PTA-sponsored book club, Equity Shelf! We’ll read and discuss books that spark conversation about equity and community.

Our next book is, Radical Imagination by Ruha Benjamin. Whether you’re new to these conversations or have been on this journey for a while, this is a space to learn, share, and connect with other parents.

Join us for our first meeting on 12/10 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Need a book copy? Please RSVP ASAP so we can get those that need books a copy.

Times: 5:30-7:30pm. Dinner begins at 5:30pm; Kid Book Club will be from 6-6:30 pm (We will read The Great Banned Books Sale by Aya Khalil as a group and then have some intergenerational discussions). Adult Book Club will start be 6:30 - 7:30 pm. 

Location: Emerson Elementary; Library Room 

What to Read: If you can't read the whole book, please read Chapter 1 “Imagining Ourselves” and Chapter 5 "Imagining the Future"

This event is open to parents, caregivers, educators, and staff. Food and childcare* will be provided. Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly. *Childcare is limited to Emerson students.
