The training is tiered at 16-hour (Tier 1), 28-hour (Tier 2) and 40-hour (Tier 3) levels during the summer. Sessions A and B are not duplicates -- both have required attendance. Tier 3 includes Tiers 1 and 2, and all groups meet together. Participants in the Tier 1 session in June may join Tiers 2 and 3 in August.

Please note that attendance at all sessions is mandatory for each tier. Applicants may sign up for Tiers 1, 2 or 3. Please indicate the highest tier you are interested in attending. After completion of each successive tier, participants will receive a Certificate of Participation in recognition of their efforts; those completing the 40-hour training will also receive a Mediation certificate. Those applying to become REFS must complete the training at the Tier 3 level.
There are 24 spots available, and all tiers are open to the MIT community. There is no charge for current students; a fee applies to all faculty, staff, and others affiliated with MIT (please e-mail Sarah Green at firstname.lastname@example.org for current training rates). MIT faculty & staff members are eligible to apply for tuition reimbursement. MIT community members will be given priority. Non-MIT members please inquire for training rates.
For the August 2017 session, applications are due by Friday, July 14th at midnight. All successful and waitlisted applicants will be notified by Tuesday July 18th.
