Commitment if you are accepted as a member of the Illinois FFA Band:
1) The 2026 Illinois FFA Convention will be held in the Bank of Springfield Center, Springfield, Illinois -- June 9 -11, 2026.
2) All band members must plan to be present no later than 10:00a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. You are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances on time.
3) Please DO NOT apply for membership in Chorus AND Band. Apply for only one.
4). You will not be able to play in the band and take part in other convention activities which would prevent you from attending rehearsals. Activities such as chorus, official delegate work, courtesy or usher corps, etc. will conflict with scheduled activities.
5) If you complete an application, be sure you will be able to attend if selected and make every effort to fulfill your commitment. Failing to show up deprives other students from playing in the Band.
6) If you are selected, you will need to bring your own white shirts/blouses, FFA tie/scarf, black pants/skirts and FFA jacket, as all performances are in Official Dress.
7) All students applying for National Band must serve in the Illinois FFA Convention Band.
8) The deadline date for band entries is April 15, 2026. The band will be formed before May 1, 2026 and you will be notified shortly thereafter if you are accepted. Audition tapes are not required for a State Band application, but will be required if you are selected as a National FFA Band candidate.
9) We will accept more than one application from Chapters.
10) Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

We would like to build up the Illinois FFA State Convention Band bigger and better than it's ever been before! We are looking for talented, hard-working, and passionate FFA members to come together to form the FFA Band; make sure you have what it takes and can put in the hours to make the 98th Illinois FFA State Convention an even better experience!
