Call to the Audience
There is one opportunity to address the Board of Education at its Regular Meetings. Board Policy 2310 - Public Participation at Board Meetings (
) - states, "... Each speaker will receive three minutes to present comments; however, if more than 10 people sign up to speak, each speaker will be limited to two minutes. The maximum amount of time for public comment will be one hour. Speakers remaining at the end of the hour period may be recognized at the end of the board’s agenda."
The New Hanover County Board of Education August Regular Board Meeting will be solely remote due to members of the Board being exposed to a positive COVID case. The virtual meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2021, beginning at 5 PM.
The Board of Education will review up to 30, 2-minute Call to the Audience messages during the August Regular Board Meeting.
Community members may sign up to speak online beginning Monday, August 2nd, at 8 AM. The deadline to add your name to the electronic sign-up sheet is at noon on Tuesday, August 3rd. Participants should call 910-251-2995 to record their 2-minute message by Tuesday, August 3rd at 2 PM. Please be reminded that messages that contain profanity or other derogatory language will not be included in Call to the Audience.
