Participant Information: Evaluation of the effect of online consultation implementation into Primary Care on the wider health system
On behalf of UXC group and Devon Clinical Commissioning Group, I would like to invite you to participate in this service evaluation into the implementation of online consultation in primary care. This project has received ethical approval. To make an informed decision on whether you want to take part, please take a few minutes to read this information sheet.   This project has received ethical approval from Exeter University (Nick Moberley, Chair of Psychology ethics contact n.j.moberly@exeter.ac.uk).

 
Who is conducting this service evaluation?  

This service evaluation is being conducted by UXC group on behalf of Devon Clinical Commissioning Group.  

 
What is the purpose of the service evaluation?  

The aims of our research are to extend the understanding of how online consultation can be effectively implemented into primary care by understanding the impact on other areas of the health service in particular, A & E departments  


Why have I been invited to take part?  

We are inviting primary health care staff from Devon practices who have implemented online consultation to take part alongside A & E staff with experience of the effects of this implementation on their service.


What are the procedures for taking part?  


If you decide to participate you will be invited to take part in a telephone interview. This will take approximately 30 minutes and you will be asked to talk about your experiences of online consultation within your service area.
Upon completion of your participation, you will be provided with a debrief and can access a summary of the findings once analysed by contacting the research team at www.uxcgroup.com 

 
What are my participation rights?  

Participation in this service evaluation guarantees the right to withdraw, to ask questions about how your data will be handled and about the study itself, the right to confidentially and anonymity (unless otherwise agreed), the right to refuse to answer questions and to be given access to a summary of the findings.  

 
What if I want to withdraw my information?  

If you wish to withdraw responses or any personal data gathered during the study you may do this without any consequences up to six weeks post-interview by contacting us at www.uxcgroup.com 


What will happen to my responses to the study?  

Data collected in this study will be analysed and used for academic publications but these would only report general trends/responses and no identifying information would be released.  


Will my responses and information be kept confidential?  

All information, which may lead to your identification will be anonymised. All information will be treated with the strictest confidence throughout the study.  All information will be kept in secure online folders on a password-protected computer.  Access to such information will only be allowed to the researcher and researcher supervisors.    

 
What are the possible risks of taking part?  

There are no risks involved in taking part in this service evaluation.
