Equality Virginia Advocates is building the next generation of political change makers and we want you to be apart of our team!!

Lead Out Loud is a paid fellowship program focused on protecting LGBTQIA + rights in Virginia and helping elect a progressive majority in the 2025 election elections. As a fellow you will work directly on the ground to elect pro-equality candidates, engage voters, and ensure our communities have the power and the voice they deserve.

This is more than just a fellowship. It’s a chance to build long-term political power and create a better Virginia for all.

Program Dates: September 10 through November 4th (Election Day)

Time commitment: 10-15 hours a week/including some evenings and most weekends (Weekend

Requirements to Apply:

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Must be available evenings and weekends

  • Must be comfortable talking to voters, including:

    • Knocking doors (canvassing)

    • Making phone calls (phone banking)

    • Discussing endorsed candidates and campaign priorities

  • Must be willing to learn and follow direct voter contact strategies and messaging

  • Must be committed to LGBTQIA+ rights and progressive values
