Billion Oyster Pavilion Construction at BanG Studio
Our volunteers will play a huge part in Fabrication of many design elements.

BanG Studio is currently testing the best techniques for the construction of the Billion Oyster Pavilion.

The tasks for us at BanG and our army of volunteers will be:
- Welding rebar into the triangles that form the canopy. (fabricated prior to assembly)
- Cable tying the triangles together.
- Weaving the 4 triangle modules and fixing the weave with zip ties.
- Making form work for the reef balls.
- Mixing concrete and casting the final reef balls.
Pavilion Assembly
General Information:
Specific volunteer dates HAVE BEEN POSTED. All interested volunteers must sign up a couple business days before the desired volunteer date in order for us to schedule accordingly. Dates provided below.

Assembly Location (Off Site): 5-26 46th Avenue, 2nd Floor Long Island City 11101 (Ring the buzzer for BanG studio and they will let you in). The nearest subway line is the E.M,G, and 7 Train (Court Sq). Please see attached map for your reference (there are also Long Island Rail Road lines if that is your preference).

Governor's Island Assembly Location: TBA in Email
WEEK 6 - Casting Reefballs & Weaving
We will make form work for the reef balls. We'll mix concrete and cast the final reef balls. Cable tying the triangles together will create our modules. Weaving the 4 triangle modules and fixing the weave with zip ties will begin creating our dome structure.
WEEK 6 - Assembly On Island
SIGNUPS FOR ISLAND ASSEMBLY DAY MUST BE REQUESTED 3 BUSINESS DAYS IN ADVANCE TO GAIN FERRY/ISLAND ACCESS.Assembly location will be sent via email. The final stretch and all hands on deck. The final assembly will take place.
