2017 Conference on Diversity and Inclusion Session Proposal Form
We are now accepting program proposals for the 2017 Conference on Diversity and Inclusion at Stonehill College. The goal of this year's conference is to further dialogue on campus about how to foster an inclusive, respectable environment at Stonehill College.

This year’s conference theme is “Forging Ahead in Light and Hope.” This theme is inspired by the recent election season and serves to keep us focused on moving forward in light of what’s to come. This year’s conference will serve as a forum to help us set a course for action towards meaningful change and inclusion of all members in the name of our College’s mission.

We are seeking individuals from the community to lead sessions on topics related to our theme, including but not limited to:

- Microagressions in and out of the classroom
- Creating “brave spaces” versus safe spaces
- Understanding privilege, power, and oppression
- Exploring Whiteness and being an effective White ally
- Building inclusivity through a Catholic identity
- Using social media to address prejudice and discrimination
- Understanding cognitive dissonance in social justice conversations
- Being a vocal bystander during moments of social injustice

Session presenters will be notified if their session is accepted. All conference sessions are 50 minutes long and will take place in Martin Institute for Law and Society and the Shields Science Center.

DEADLINE FOR PROGRAM PROPOSALS: Wednesday, January 25, 2017 @ 11:59 PM!

PLEASE NOTE: If you submit a proposal for the conference, you must also register for the conference, even if you are only able to present during your session.
