Stories of LGBTQ+ Christians
In response to the 2021 Report from the Committee to Articulate a Foundation-laying Biblical Theology of Human Sexuality, we would like to collect and share the stories of LGBTQ+ people (and their families and friends) who are currently (or formerly) associated with the Christian Reformed Church.
We hope the stories will be from named individuals but also will protect identity if you desire. We recognize that often LGBTQ+ Church and/or Faith stories have painful elements. We want to share your honest story and hope to include the playful and joyful aspects to your stories as well.
If you or someone you know is interested in being part of this storytelling project, we want to hear from you. Our intention is to share this compilation as part of a social media project to create awareness of the beautiful lives of LGBTQ+ Christians. It will also be a very effective way to engage and challenge so much of what is presented in the report. Some of the earliest stories are part of an overture submitted to Synod, and new stories are now being shared on The Hesed Project website.
This is an expression of interest. Filling out this form and connecting with us now does not obligate you to participate.
We are a team of volunteers, and one of us will endeavour to connect with you within a few days of indicating your interest by filling out this form.
For such a time as this,
-- Jacqueline Donkersloot, for the story-telling team
