ISY Elementary Parent Survey: World Languages (September 2019)
ISY is a school committed to the continuous improvement of its academic programs. We issued this World Languages survey to parents last September and the following developments have resulted the feedback we received:

*All Grade 1 to 5 students now participate in one Myanmar Culture lesson per week. As part of our curriculum review process, we are also committed to developing opportunities in all curriculum areas throughout the school to include the culture and language of our host country.

*Spanish classes have started after school. Spanish joins German and Dutch as languages taught at ISY as part of our After School Activities (ASA) program.

*A new World Languages Head of Department, Mr. Nicolas Lapoujade, has been hired to consolidate an appropriate balance between listening, speaking, reading, and writing, support a greater emphasis on our students’ interpersonal listening and speaking skills, and to support the development of increasingly interactive, collaborative and communicative methods of teaching and learning.

As part of our continuous improvement efforts, we again invite you to fill out this World Languages Survey.

This form will not collect your email address or any other information that will identify you. If you would like to contact me about our World Language program, please do not hesitate to email me at msimpson@isyedu.org.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Sandy Sheppard / Mike Simpson
