Rensselaer Faculty and Staff Lunch and Learn Workshop - Create Space to Do More
Have you considered adding video content to your course? Are you trying to incorporate Active Learning in STEM courses? Industrial and Systems Engineering Professor Tom Sharkey created time for interactivity in his classroom by moving elements of his lessons online. He did so over the course of three semesters in transitioning a “traditional” course to one that is a mixture of active learning, traditional lectures, and online supplementary material. In analyzing this learning environment, he found that students perceived that curating “professor-approved” supplementary material could be just as effective as offering “professor-created” material.

Come learn about best practices in course development, video creation, content curation, and the successes and challenges of implementing new strategies from Professor Sharkey.

This workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 4th from 12:00 pm -1:00 pm in Rensselaer Union, Room 3202.

You are welcome to bring your lunch into this session. Please bring a fully charged laptop.

Please register by October 2nd. Space is limited.
