Purpose (Disclosure) Statement
The Private Service Alliance Annual Research Survey, conducted in partnership with the doctoral research of Jennifer Laurence at Columbia International University, is a comprehensive digital survey consisting of 150+ questions. It is designed to gather critical insights into the demographics of private service professionals and the operational environments within private estate management.
This industry-wide survey invites private service professionals across all roles and experience levels to contribute valuable data regarding compensation, benefits, work schedules, job responsibilities, and estate operations. Your anonymous responses will help identify emerging trends, key themes, and best practices, advancing professional knowledge within the estate management sector.
If you are not currently working full-time in private service—such as if you own your own business as a consultant or fractional manager, or are currently between roles—please answer all questions consistently based on either:
- Your most prominent current client (if consulting or fractional managing), or
- The last private service position you held.
This approach ensures your responses remain consistent and aligned with your industry experience, providing the most accurate data possible.
All survey data is encrypted and depersonalized to ensure complete confidentiality. No identifying information about employers, principals, or specific properties will be collected. The survey requires approximately 45-60 minutes to complete.
Additionally, Estate Managers with 10+ years of experience will have the option to opt-in for a follow-up focus group interview at the end of the survey. This qualitative phase, part of Jennifer Laurence’s doctoral research, will explore leadership, operations, and communication practices within estate management environments.
Participation in both the survey and the optional focus group is voluntary, uncompensated, and greatly valued. Your input will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of estate management research and professional development within the private service industry.
