Port Elgin Waterfront Development Survey
Time is of the essence. The final site plan for the Cedar Crescent Village still has to be approved by Council before building can commence. It is important that Council understands your wishes regarding the Cedar Crescent Village as it will bring dramatic changes to the Port Elgin waterfront.

#5 - The Town of Saugeen Shores has signed a 50 year lease with the Cedar Crescent Village for the waterfront land. The two restaurants currently at the waterfront have 5-year leases. Is the term of the CCV lease appropriate? *

#7- The Cedar Crescent Village should include a 250-seat Event Hall. *

# 11 - The Shoreplan Engineering Report of October 2020 (on behalf of the developer) concluded that the preferred solution for floodproofing this site was to bring in fill (up to 1.1m) to raise the site grade, build a low barrier wall for protection from wave uprush, and develop floodproofing design for the buildings. Do you agree with these solutions? *
# 12 - The peer review of the Shoreplan Report was completed by geoscientist Peter Zuzek, of Zuzek Incorporated. Multiple concerns regarding the development were addressed in the report. Based on environmental concerns raised by Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority and the Zuzek Report, should the Town rescind the permit application? *
# 13 - If the Executive Committee of the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority does not approve the application for the Cedar Crescent Village, should the Town appeal to Steve Clark, the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs, for a Minister Zoning Order to overturn the SVCA decision?
