The Maryland Emergency Management Association wishes to acknowledge the many talented professionals who present at the Association’s annual Symposium in May 2026, in Ocean City, Maryland.
We invite all MDEMA 2026 Symposium attendees to
submit nominations for the Best Conference Breakout Session Award. The winner will be announced after Symposium. Any questions about the nomination process should be sent to Taylor Munir (Taylor.Munir@maryland.gov).
About the MDEMA Best Conference Session Award
Maryland has a diverse group of talented presenters that join the MDEMA Symposium each year. We show our appreciation for these presenters by nominating one presentation as the Best Conference Breakout Session Award each year. The Best Conference Breakout Session Award is given to a highly interactive session that encourages meaningful discussion and provides valuable insights into Emergency Management. Attendee should evaluate each session in the following areas to determine their final nomination:
Innovation: The session nominated is a highly creative or a uniquely formatted session that drew in the attendees and brought new insights into the topic of discussion.
Facilitated Discussion: The session nominated was well moderated by the presenters and fostered open dialogue and participation.
Engagement: The session nominated consistently kept the attendees actively involved and interested.
Networking Opportunity: The session nominated facilitated connections among attendees.
