Hello!
I am the owner of "Over the Shoulder Editorial" based in Bellingham, Wash. A journalist, editor, proofreader, writing coach, and book reviewer, I work with writers of all levels in both fiction and nonfiction. I have carved out a niche assisting writers of memoir, self-help and How To titles. I split my time between Bellingham and Brooklyn, so I have clients on Wall Street, including Prudential Securities and Oppenheimer Funds.

With more than 25 years as a news reporter, I have worked in newsrooms around the globe including CNN, the Associated Press, Gannett and McClatchy. I am an award-winning journalist having received accolades for my research on freedom of the press and journalist safety.

In addition to reporting, editing and proofreading, I am the ​author of "A Proofreading Companion: Tips, Tools & Strategies for Polishing Your Writing," ​(published in 2019 on Amazon.com).

I hold a master’s degree in communication, a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) degree. Since 2010, I have traveled extensively working as a writer and editor in New York, Iceland, France, Malta, Morocco, and South Africa.
