ABOUT ISSNAF
The Italian Scientists & Scholars in North America Foundation (ISSNAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting, empowering, and celebrating the Italian intellectual diaspora in North America. ISSNAF fosters networking and promotes cultural, scientific, academic, and technological collaboration—both within its community and with public and private institutions in North America and Italy.
ISSNAF Local Chapters connect the ISSNAF community within specific geographic areas, offering opportunities for engagement and collaboration.
REGISTRATION CATEGORIES
Member
Members meet specific eligibility criteria and enjoy full access to ISSNAF’s programs and opportunities. As a Member you will:
- Expand your professional network with Italian colleagues who share your heritage
- Benefit from ISSNAF’s full range of professional resources and opportunities
- Participate in your Chapter programs and events with priority access
- Have a meaningful way to give back to your country of origin through mentorship and community engagement
Eligibility requirements to register as a Member: - Be a first-generation Italian
- Hold a university degree
- Conduct, or have conducted, research or development in any field, and
- Have, or have previously had, an affiliation of at least one year with a public or private organization in North America
Affiliate
Affiliates are professionals who do not meet the criteria for Member registration but wish to actively engage with the ISSNAF community. As an Affiliate, you will:
- Connect with Italian professionals and scholars in your area
- Participate in Chapters' events and programs, and
- Access ISSNAF’s professional resources and opportunities (please note: access to certain roles and programs may be limited)
Eligibility requirements to register as an Affiliate:- Hold a university degree, and
- Be (or have been) a professional in any field
Student
Graduate and undergraduate students can benefit from ISSNAF programs designed to support their academic and professional growth:
- Mentoring Programs: Personalized guidance offered by experienced ISSNAF members.
- Mobility Programs: Opportunities for study and research visits at university and research institutions in North America, available to students from Italian partner universities. Visiting students are welcome to participate in activities organized by their ISSNAF Local Chapter.
Eligibility requirements to register as a Student:
- Hold the Italian nationality, and
- Be a graduate or undergraduate student
