H.I.S. After-School Clubs | Quarter 2
H.I.S. After-School Clubs exists with the intention to provide greater opportunities for students of H.I.S. and friends of H.I.S. to engage and grow in areas that may not naturally fall within the academic program of the school. We hope that you will enjoy this provision as we continue to add more to the list of offerings. Please find important details about clubs below. 

While there is a minimum student number requirement for each club, there is also a cap on how large the club can be. The clubs are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. So, sign up soon to ensure your child's spot in the desired club. If the minimum number of students are not met, the club may be cancelled for the quarter.

CLUB LIST WITH DETAILS


STEM CLUB
(Science Technology Engineering Math)
About the Club: The goal of STEM is to challenge students to use different aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to solve problems. The students will learn different aspects of STEM in regards to problem solving.

  • Time: 3:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Age group: 5-7 years
  • Location: H.I.S.
  • Cost: Rs. 400 per lesson
  • Duration: 9 October - 15 December
  • Club Leader: Ms. Addie Perry
  • Other Details: Students will be provided with all materials needed for the club. 

BAKING CLUB
About the Club: Students will learn proper baking techniques and experiment with recipes from different communities. 
  • Day: Tuesday
  • Time: 3:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Age group: 8-12 years
  • Location: H.I.S.
  • Cost: Rs. 400 per lesson
  • Duration: 9 October - 15 December 
  • Club Leader: Ms. Addie Perry
  • Other Details: Students need to bring their own mittens and apron.
This club will also publish an HIS Cookbook at the end of the quarter/year which will be available for the community. 


FOOTBALL (SOCCER) CLUB
  • Day: Tuesday
  • Time: 3:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Age group: 5-12 years
  • Location: H.I.S.
  • Cost: Rs. 300 per session
  • Duration: 9 October - 15 December 
  • Club Leader: Ms. Grace Lama
  • Other Details: Kids should come in appropriate outfit for the sport. 

EMBROIDERY CLUB
About the Club: Students will learn different stitches and how to create beautiful pieces of art.
  • Day: Wednesday
  • Time: 3:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Age Group: 8 years - adult
  • Location: H.I.S.
  • Cost: Rs. 500 per lesson
  • Duration: 9 October - 15 December

  • Other Details: All materials for the club will be provided by the school. 

PIANO CLUB
About the Club: Students will be introduced to the fundamentals i.e., piano foundation, notations, music theory, rhythmic skills and techniques.

  • Age Group: (8-12 years)
  • Location: H.I.S.
  • Cost: Rs. 500 per lesson
  • Duration: 9 October - 15 December

  • Other Details: Students will have to bring their own keyboard.

DECOR / JEWELLERY 
About the Club: Students will be making earrings, bracelets, vintage wall hangings, flower vase, macrame planters,  feathers, headbands and many more creative decor items.

  • Age Group: 8-12 years

  • Cost: Rs. 500 per lesson
  • Duration: 9 October - 15 December

  • Other Details: All materials for the club will be provided by the school. 
This club will be creating decorative items that will go on sale at the HIS Christmas Mela in December. Students will be allowed to take any 2 of their created items, home. 


WOODWORK 
About the Club: Students will be introduced to different types of wood & their uses, measurements & cuts, joinery and finishing the project with sanding and coating. Safety will be a high priority in this club.

ART CLUB
About the Club: The students will be introduced on how to set up the drawing papers of different sizes and grades. They will learn Perspective Drawing as well as Water Color Painting.

One or more Art pieces of each student will be selected for an Auction at the HIS Christmas Mela.

A child can sign up for more than one club as long as the two clubs selected do not happen on the same day. 
CLUB RULES & EXPECTATIONS
1. Students are expected to be on time to the club. 
2. All students must be respectful to their club leader and their fellow learners. 
3. Defiant behaviour, non compliance, use of inappropriate language will result in removal from the club.
4. Students are expected to handle with care all equipment and materials provided to them for the club, and must not touch, tamper or engage with any material that does not pertain to their club. 
5. If a student misses a class without prior information, 24 hours in advance, the class will be charged for. On the other hand, if the teacher is unable to lead a club any particular day, the class will be made up for in the next quarter. All payment settlement will be done at the end of the quarter or carried forward to the next quarter if the student continues in the club.
6. The school will not take responsibility of the any student after 4:00pm. Therefore, it is imperative for the parents to pick up their child(ren) at 4:00pm. 
UNDERSTANDING
  • In the event of an absent club leader, the school will inform you if the club is cancelled. 
  • If you hear nothing from the school, the club will take place as usual. 
  • In the event of the club leader's absence, the school will either a) cancel and inform the parents b) find a capable substitute leader for the club.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. HIS holds the right to reservation to the after-school clubs. 
2. HIS may un-enrol a child from club/s if they are found to be in violation of the club rules, expectations and policies.
3. Payments are to be made in advance for the entire duration of the quarter. If you have a date within the quarter that you will not be available, please mention in the comments below. 
4. I agree to the Club Rules, Expectations, and the Understanding mentioned above.
