Hack4Freedom is a two-week hybrid hackathon where women in the global south to learn, build, and ship open-source tools using Bitcoin, Lightning, Nostr, and eCash.
It combines workshops, mentorship, and project-based learning so participants leave with real prototypes, repos, and collaborators. In 2026, we're launching 5 hack4freedoms in new cities! Dates TBD.

4️⃣ Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Q3 2026
5️⃣ Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Q2 2026

You must be located in either Lagos Nigeria, Nairobi Kenya, or Port Harcourt Nigeria, or São Paulo and Belo Horizonte Brazil to qualify.

This application is a form of intent. It’s not a binding commitment, but it ensures you’ll receive updates, resources, and the opportunity to officially participate. Once we receive your application, we'll send over an email to set up a call for a quick meet and greet!
