Lanarkshire Pride CIC is building a stronger, more visible LGBTQ+ community across Lanarkshire. By becoming a member, you help us sustain our Pride Connect support groups, wellbeing activities, community events and Pride celebrations — while receiving a range of benefits in return.
Below is our proposed three-tier membership model.
1️⃣ Pride Member – FREE
For service users attending 4+ Pride Connect sessions per month
Who is it for?
Regular attendees of Pride Connect (youth or adult groups) who want to formally be part of the organisation.
Benefits:
Free membership. Voting rights in
steering group polls (advisory to directors). Members’ newsletter and early updates.Eligibility to join our volunteer pathway. Invitation to member-only meetups and social opportunities
Why this tier exists:
This recognises and rewards people who actively participate in our community and ensures cost is never a barrier to inclusion.
2️⃣ Community Supporter – £5 OR £12 per month
Choose the level that suits you — all support stays local.
£5/month – Friend of Lanarkshire Pride
Perfect for : allies,, or anyone wanting to support our work.
Benefits include:
All Pride Member benefits.Name added to our “Friends of Lanarkshire Pride” supporters section of the website.Invitation to regular supporter events
£12/month – Community Champion
For supporters who want to make a bigger local impact.
Benefits include everything above +
Priority booking to high-demand activities. Free entry to selected eventsAnnual Community Champion certificate. Exclusive updates on new projects (e.g., expansion plans, advocacy work)
3️⃣ Business Ally – £25 per month
For local businesses, employers, charities or community organisations
Benefits:
Logo on website as an official “Lanarkshire Pride Business Ally”Social media thank-you post (2x per year). Window sticker to show your support. Opportunities to participate in Pride events. Access to our LGBTQ+ awareness support and signposting guidance. Invitation to our annual partnership event and networking

Lanarkshire Pride CIC – Membership Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility for Membership
1.1 Membership is open to individuals, community organisations, groups, and partners who:
Live or operate within
South Lanarkshire or
North Lanarkshire; and have attended at least
four Pride Connect sessions within a three-month period; and Agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions.
1.2 The Board of Directors reserves the right to refuse membership where eligibility criteria are not met or where it is not in the best interests of Lanarkshire Pride CIC.
2. Membership Categories
2.1 Membership is free and available to qualifying individuals and organisations in Lanarkshire.
2.2 Membership does not grant voting rights over company governance unless explicitly stated by the Directors.
3. Member Responsibilities
Members must:
Attend at least
50% of all member meetings per year.Act respectfully and uphold Lanarkshire Pride CIC values.Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, GDPR and inclusion policies.Support positive, kind and non-judgemental behaviour.Communicate respectfully with staff, volunteers, directors and other members.
4. Confidentiality
4.1 All meeting content, internal documents, discussions and decisions are strictly confidential.
4.2 Members must not share internal business or group content outside the organisation.
4.3 Confidentiality breaches may result in suspension or termination of membership.
5. GDPR & Data Protection
Members must:
Handle information safely and lawfullyNot store personal details on personal devicesNot share or discuss participant informationReport any accidental data breaches immediately
6. Conduct & Behaviour
Members must NOT:
Engage in abusive, discriminatory or disruptive behaviourRepresent Lanarkshire Pride CIC publicly without permissionUse our name, branding or identity without approvalUndermine staff, volunteers or directorsShare internal matters on social media
Breaches may lead to suspension or termination.
7. Projects, Decision-Making & Governance
7.1 Members play an advisory role through steering group meetings.
7.2 Directors retain final decision-making authority on all:
Projects, Spending and budgets, Organisational priorities, Safeguarding, Policies, External communication
8. Meeting Attendance
8.1 Members must attend at least half of scheduled meetings per year.
8.2 Consistently low attendance may result in membership being reviewed.
9. Safeguarding
9.1 All safeguarding concerns must be reported to trained group leads or Directors immediately.
9.2 Members must not attempt to deal with safeguarding issues themselves.
10. Letters of Support & References
Letters of support, character references, and employment/volunteering references will only be issued for registered members who meet the membership criteria.
To receive a reference, members must:
Have attended
at least four sessions in three months. Be actively engaged with Pride Connect or other activities. Have an established relationship with the organisation that allows us to truthfully comment on their involvement
Lanarkshire Pride CIC cannot provide references for non-members or those with irregular or minimal attendance.
11. Suspension or Termination of Membership
Membership may be suspended or removed if:
Eligibility is no longer met. Attendance requirements are not fulfilled. Policies are breached. Conduct is unsafe or harmful. Confidentiality or GDPR rules are broken
Director decisions are final.
12. Changes to Terms & Conditions
Lanarkshire Pride CIC reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions. Members will be notified of any substantial changes.
For the purposes of company law, the members of Lanarkshire Pride CIC are its Directors. Our community membership scheme (Pride Members, Community Supporters and Business Allies) does not confer legal membership of the company or Companies Act voting rights
