2018 Maine AFL-CIO  Labor Summer Institute Registration
The Summer Institute is a project of the Maine AFL-CIO and the Bureau of Labor Education.  The Summer Institute has been a long-standing tradition of bringing union members together to meet each other, learn new skills, and build our power!

This Summer Institute is a place for union members to learn about important issues, to share valuable skills, and to get to know one another. Over the course of the Institute, you’ll take part in workshops, general discussions, and planning for the future work of unions in Maine.

 This year's Institute will last two days, including an evening session, starting on Wednesday August 8th at 9am (with registration starting at 8:30am) and ending late afternoon by 4pm on Thursday August 9th. It will be held at the University of Maine in Orono.

Registration Costs for Unions Affiliated with the Maine AFL-CIO: $100
Registration Costs for Unions not Affiliated with the Maine AFL-CIO: $130

Housing Information
As noted above, housing this year will be at the University Inn Located at 5 College Ave. Orono, Maine.  Participants need to inform the Inn that they are with the AFL-CIO.  Block rate is available for Tuesday August 7th & Wednesday August 8th . This Inn will provide air conditioned rooms at special rate of $109/night per room or $119 for double occupancy.  If you would like assistance finding a roommate, please note that in your registration.

Participants need to reserve a room and pay themselves by contacting this Inn for a reservation via phone at: (207) 866-4921. Room reservations need to be made by July 14. Rooms only will be available on a first-come first serve basis after this date. This Inn also requires a two-week cancellation notice.
