These roles are vital to our shared governance model and offer opportunities for collaboration, leadership, and professional development. Access Services - Circulation - Task Force (*NEW*) 
The Access Services task force will coordinate system implementation activities such as best practices, troubleshooting, and development efforts in PALNI libraries. The group will focus on implementation opportunities, challenges, coordination, and enhancements for access services between PALNI-supported institutions and aid in the development of associated best practices and consortial policies.

This group promotes communication among library staff working in archives and aligns priorities for PALNI services in this area. This newly formed group aims to have workshops, create a network, and eventually develop proposals for archives-specific programs and grants. It provides and shares professional development opportunities and guides participation in the ArchivesSpace service.

Scholarly Communications (ScholComm)
This group develops and supports scholarly communication initiatives at the PALNI-supported institutions, including open access, scholarly publishing, institutional repositories, affordable learning, and researcher support. ScholComm raises awareness and provides related professional development opportunities via web and in-person. Guides participation in Hyku Commons, the PALSave Affordable Learning Program and the PALNI Open Press. Please check out our 2026-2027 Statement of Work for more information.

PALNI Open Press Advisory Board
This group provides strategic, editorial, and policy-level guidance to ensure the publishing service upholds high standards of quality, transparency, and alignment with library values, institutional missions, and best practices in scholarly publishing. The Board advises on the service’s publishing scope and policy, and reviews proposals. Members serve as advocates for library publishing, contributing their expertise to strengthen its impact within scholarly communities.
