Ever been approached by a researcher asking you about how they can manage the data from their research project or create a data management plan? Has your Office of Research contacted you about the options that might be available for managing and preserving the data of institutional researchers? With the recent Tri-Agency Statement of Principles on Digital Data Management (http://www.science.gc.ca/eic/site/063.nsf/eng/h_83F7624E.html?OpenDocument) detailing the expectations of researchers for effective data stewardship in tri-agency funded research projects, you're likely to hear more questions like those above.
So how do you answer these questions? Luckily, there are many people working on developing effective tools and training to help you in supporting the research data management needs of researchers at your institutions. Please join us for the CAUL-CBUA Forum on Research Data Management (RDM) and learn about what's happening on the national, regional, and local levels in research data management. Most importantly, you'll hear about what's available to support you and your researchers in advancing RDM in your institutions.
The Forum is open to anyone who works at a CAUL-CBUA member library. The session will be open to both in-person and virtual attendance. Due to room size limitations, in-person attendance will be coordinated by your University Librarian or Director, so please let them know if you'd like to attend in-person. The maximum number of virtual attendees is 250, so please register early!
The Forum will be recorded, and the recording made available on the CAUL-CBUA website soon after the Forum is finished. Refreshments and snacks will be provided at the Break.
Please complete the information below to register. After you RSVP using the form below, all registrants will receive a Skype for Business invitation with access information for the Forum, even if you are attending in person. This is in case in-person attendance on the day of the Forum is not feasible for you and you'd still like to attend virtually. If you are attending virtually and would like to test out your connection in advance, please contact me (Cynthia Holt) at email@example.com.
