Thank you for your interest in the Romero House Board. Please complete the form below to let us know of your interest in potentially serving as a board member or to recommend someone else. Romero House is like a great potluck where we all bring our gifts and together all our fed. The Board of Directors is one way to serve this community - your skills, experiences, time and energy are very welcome. Expressions of interest are always welcome. New Board members are often approved at the June AGM.

Some basic information:

We are a board of 8-10 members. We have monthly meetings and committee work between them, usually requiring 6-10 hours per month. Meetings are held at Romero House and some are online. Proximity to Toronto is important. All board members have a commitment to Romero House's way of being, a spirit of care for the community and a willingness/ability to dedicate time and energy in their role. At any one time, we strive to have a board that has diversity of gender, age, and race, includes members who have lived experience as refugees, including former residents/workers of Romero House who have a range of specific skills and knowledge in fundraising, HR, planning, finance, refugee settlement, advocacy, community life and board governance. All the while sharing in the feast of joy, friendship and service that is Romero House.

Thank you for the generosity with which you have expressed interest in serving Romero House. We always welcome candidates' expression of interest. As positions are available, we need to prioritize those candidates who best match the specific needs of the Board at each moment. The Romero House board meets on the last Monday evening of each month except Dec, July and August. alternating between online and in person. Would you be available to participate in in person meetings on last Monday of the month?
