The new Illinois Social Science Standards require students to evaluate sources and use evidence to support inquiry. Engage with strategies such as Socratic Seminar and Structured Academic Controversy to facilitate student development of the knowledge, skills and dispositions for success in college, career and civic life. Explicit connections will be made to the Common Core State Standards and the Danielson Framework for Effective Teaching.
