Thank you for your interest in Instrumental Music in Pittsburgh Public Schools! Learning to play an instrument has physical, cognitive, social and emotional benefits, and we are excited to help your child grow! Students in grades 4-8 will have the opportunity to play a musical instrument. At the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year, your child will take part in Specialized Music Instruction, which includes small group lessons once every 6 school days, on a rotating basis. A copy of the rotating schedule will be distributed to your child by your child’s instrumental music specialist.
If needed, students will have the opportunity to borrow a District-issued instrument. Students who borrow District-issued instruments will need to have a “Bond for Musical Instrument Furnished” form on file with your child's Instrumental Music Specialist.
Please complete the following form, and indicate your child’s first and second choice of instruments.
Again, thank you for your interest, and we look forward to helping your young musician grow!
