The Red Dragon Players Needs You
Your son or daughter is an active member of the Austin High Theatre Department, the most successful theatre department in AustinISD. We ask that every parent give of their time to volunteer in some capacity. You child will directly benefit from your involvement.
Because our Booster Club Membership is FREE, we need every parent to give at least 3 hours during the year to volunteer. That is only 0.03% of your entire year. YOU DO HAVE THE TIME. Please take a few minutes to check out the opporutnities. Let us know where you will be volunteering this year. We ask that you pick at least one of the following.
Volunteer Opportunities
Join our stage here at Austin HIgh Theatre by volunteering your time for an enjoyable and exciting cause. Theatre at Austin High thrives, in part, through the contributions of a wonderful group of volunteers who are involved in many of the thrilling aspects of the theatre's operations. No matter what your background is, you will always feel at home with the Red Dragon Players' family. Join us behind the scenes by volunteering to support the staff in the Fundraising, Marketing, Patron Services, Production, and Social Activities. Some of these volunteer opportunities take place at the theatre office at Austin High School during and after normal school hours, while many may be done from home.

Level 1 - Volunteer Opportunites
These volunteers may spend 30 minutes to and hour dropping off things at the Theater for each production. The leg work will be done by the student house crew members.
Which of the following interests you most?

Flowers - We need two team leaders who will be responsible for ordeing carnations and delivering them to the school on show nights.
Stars - We need team leaders who will be responsible for buying the materials to create the stars and deliver them to the school.
Show Photos - We need two team leaders to organize the photos sales for each show by ordering photos and delivering them to the school.
Concessions - We need two more teams members to assist gathering conceesion items for each production.
Box Office Manager - This is a job done strictly from home, using our online ticketing system. The BOM will set up ticket sales for each production.
Production T-shirt Design - We would like a team of parents to design and order production/department/school spirit shirts.

Level 2 Volunteer Opportunities
These are items that take a bit more time, but only happen a few times a year.

Back-to-School Bash - We need a team of parents to plan & implement our family kick off event that is usualy held at the beginning of September.
Rehearsal Dinners for Students - We need 5 team members to help organize the dinners for students on the nights of dress rehearsal and production. This does not mean you provide the food. You rally the troupes.
Box Officer Attendants - We need team members to run the box office for each production.
Semester Care Packages - We need five team members work with Ms. Drgoo to organize and implement the sale of student Semester Exam Care Packages.
Halloween Party - This is always a fun evening. We need parents to plan and implement the party for students.
Holiday Party - We need parents to plan & implement the party on December 20, 2019 at the Mahoney's house.
New Years Eve Party - January 6, 2020 at the school.

These are fundraising opportunities that happen ONCE-A-YEAR.

Blues on the Green Parking - We need a team of parents to plan & implement the parking sales for this event that happens once a month during the summer. This event usually raisers $5000.
Advertisement Sales - We need a team of parents to ask local business to buy advertisements for our Playbill.
ACL Parking -We need a team of parents to plan & implement the parking sales by for this event that happens once a year. This event usually raisers $7000.
Red Dragon Players 5K Fun Run - We need a team of parents to plan & implement this fun community event to be held on February 22, 2020.
Red Dragon Bazaar - We need a team of parents to plan & implement this fun event featureing local artisans, homebased businesses, and the theatre garage sale. This event is planned for April 25 or May 9, 2020.
