UMN Writing Hunker (August 10–14, 2026)

PRIORITY DEADLINE:      noon on Wednesday, July 15

For applications submitted by noon on July 15, we will inform applicants of decisions by Monday, July 20. In the past, we have been able to offer spaces to eligible applicants who meet the priority deadline.

After July 15, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

WHAT  a facilitated writing retreat for scholars, researchers, and writers

WHEN  August 10–14, 2026, Monday–Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:45 pm

  • Structure. Each day features structured time to write!

  • Community. Being around fellow writers enhances productivity and connection! 

  • Individual writing support. You’ll have access to consultations with writing specialists and librarians!
