Holy Trinity Cathedral Greek Dance Program

Welcome to a new year of Greek folk dancing.  We are delighted to have you and/or your child in the dance group program and look forward to an exciting year.  Please take a minute to read the information below in its entirety.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Holy Trinity Cathedral Dance Program is to bring together Greek Orthodox Youth in an atmosphere of Christian Fellowship to promote, perpetuate, and celebrate the Greek Orthodox Faith, heritage, and culture through traditional costumes, music, song and dance.

Registration 2016-2017
Each dancer’s family must be a current pledged steward of Holy Trinity Cathedral in order to enroll in the dance program. This rule applies to all dance instructors and Board members. Any exception to this rule will require discussion with and clearance from the Proistemenos of the Cathedral. Registration for the Holy Trinity Cathedral dance program will occur in September of every year.

The 2016-2017 registration fee for Protopori and Arete is $175 for the first dancer per family. Fees for siblings will be $150 for the second dancer and $100 for the third. Registration will increase by $50 per dancer to $225 (and $200 and $150 for siblings) after November 20, 2016. The registration fee for Ouranio Toxo and Hara is a flat fee of $75 per dancer.

The registration fee helps pay for dance program t-shirts, maintenance and care of costumes, procurement of new costumes and scholarship expenses. A percentage of the proceeds (25%) will go toward workshops, live music, and some expenses for instructors participating at FDF. All materials purchased are the property of Holy Trinity Dance Program. All instructors and board members are volunteers. No one will be denied participation because of an inability to pay. Financial assistance, partial and full is available. Please direct requests to Fr. Paul Paris or the Dance Board Registrar. This information is confidential.

You can find additional information about the dance program in the by-laws posted on the Holy Trinity website.
