Pedal Me is obliged to carry out checks on your 'Right to Work' in the UK and a basic eyesight test (reading a numberplate at 20 metres) as a prerequisite to commencing any training.
Pedal Me focuses on removing motor vehicle journeys from London's roads, by exclusively using e-cargo bikes.
Pedal Me will train you to carry 150kg in weight, part of your job will involve carrying passengers and towing a trailer, which increases the maximum load to 300kg.
Central to our training approach comes an understanding that 'low risk' cycling does not explicitly require the use of a helmet.
Pedal Me will train you in ‘low risk’ cycling, and it is expected you can demonstrate it, and adhere to it in the job.
Pedal Me expects you to have a working knowledge of the UK Highway Code (
https://www.highwaycodeuk.co.uk/), particularly in relation to cycling and pedestrians.
Pedal Me will employ you and pay an hourly rate plus commission that will equate to at least London living wage.
Pedal Me will also pay pension, holiday pay, sick pay and NI contributions.
Pedal Me shifts are 7-8 hours in length, please expect early starts. Part-time staff are expected to work a minimum of 3 consecutive days.
We are currently looking for people who can work Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays.
Pedal Me expects you to already be using a bicycle on a regular basis to get around London.
Pedal Me operates in all weather conditions and we only limit our service in exceptional circumstances. We provide some uniform but you are expected to own appropriate clothing.
Hours of operation:
07:00 - 18:00 Weekdays
08:00 - 17:00 Weekends
Riding shifts are expected to overrun on occasion - from time to time you will be required to start early or finish late.
