Work For ME, DTE! Fellowship Application
Background: https://workformedte.org

Soulardarity and Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition (MJEC) has joined to bring a unique opportunity to Highland Park, Detroit and surrounding cities. In recent months, DTE has submitted energy plans and rate hike proposals that show what they think that future looks like: a new billion dollar methane gas burning facility, weakening the solar industry, and making sure that solar on your rooftops and in your communities stays unaffordable. Meanwhile, they’re building the NEXUS gas pipeline and running other unregulated subsidiaries that invest in more fossil fuels, releasing more asthma-inducing and climate-causing gases into the air. They say that this plan is the most “cost-effective” option for their ratepayers, while they promise DTE Energy and subsidiaries shareholders a doubling of their profits in the next 10 years! We need actions that will bring jobs, and clean, safe and healthy community solutions for a new green economy. We should rebuild Detroit and all of our neighboring communities throughout Southeast Michigan – cleaner and greener, with no shut offs, and with strong and sustainable infrastructure for future generations. We want 100% clean energy commitment now, while there is still time.
