Cheer Eligibility

Cheer is a sport in which one student-athlete is responsible for the safety of another student-athlete. For the safety of the squad, members MUST attend every practice. Student-athletes MAY have to choose between cheer and another sport.  If your child is in another club or sport, please contact the teacher or coach concerning your child’s required commitment to that sport or club. Speak to a cheer coach before tryouts to discuss if small accommodations can be made for participation in both sports or club.

Appointments and other events may arise during the practice and game season. A coach must be notified that a practice or an event will be missed. Other than emergencies, notification must be before the missed practice or event. Failure to attend without notifying a coach WILL result in a 30 probation in which NO practice or events may be missed. Frequent absences and tardiness are grounds for permanent dismissal from the squad. Coaches must be notified in person, by phone, or by email if there will be an absence from a scheduled practice or event. Telling another person to inform a coach  DOES NOT  constitute informing a coach.  Additionally, all members must follow the PCA attendance policy.
