From a Distance - Show Overview
This show is a musical review of songs sung mostly from fire escapes, mountain tops, large rocks, balconies, and rooftops. The cast includes a wide variety of performers who are children, young adults, and adults of all ages. These songs are mostly declarations of love and life.
There will be two characters (male or female) sitting up in their own balcony opera box, their personalities fashioned after Statler and Waldorf of the Muppets. They will be the glue that binds our show together, commenting all the while as the show moves along.
Please, if you would like to be considered for their part in the show, write this down (plus your “partner”) on your audition form. Please note they will sing one short song of their own, but will not be able to participate in any of the other musical performances.
I am excited to have this opportunity to be the director for this streaming project created by myself and a small team. Chris and I look forward to seeing your audition tapes! We have a short timeline, but it will be packed full of fun, talent, creativity, AND the satisfaction of coming together to build a very entertaining piece of musical theatre!
