First UU Survey on the Proposed 8th Principle

We have been talking as a congregation about the proposed 8th Principle for several years now. Adopting the proposed 8th Principle is a way we could commit as a congregation to institutionalizing anti-racism, anti-oppression, and multiculturalism. It would also connect us to a larger movement in Unitarian Universalism of over 150 congregations who have adopted the proposed 8th Principle, which reads:

We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote:

8. Journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.

This survey will provide guidance in understanding what the stance of the congregation is towards adopting the proposed 8th Principle.
