Turkish and Syrian Earthquake Fundraising
Hello! We are Naeman Mahmood and Ameer Rifai, two Emory students who are going to run the Publix Atlanta Marathon on February 26th, 2023. From this competition we are looking to raise money for the devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkey that has killed 33,000 people (as of 2/13/23 10:11 AM EST). 

We have elected to split the donations of this fundraiser between a Syrian organization and a Turkish organization. Here are the two charities:

1) Turkish Philanthropy Funds: This organization gives grants to small Turkish organizations on the ground that range from search teams, psychological services, and immediate cash assistance. Check the link for more information

2) Syrian American Medical Society: This organization supports hospitals and medical facilities all across Syria; the organization has cared for over 1,940 earthquake victims. Check the link for more information.
