VIDA Pet Adoption Application
Updated 04/13/22
Thank you for your interest in adopting an animal and going through the adoption process!
STEP 1: Apply. Please be sure to fill out this form AS THOROUGHLY AS POSSIBLE - more info can help us determine whether the dog/cat you're interested in will be a good fit in your home. Generally, please try to include everything in your app rather than emailing/calling us about your home individually - we look at EVERYONE's apps, but we may not be able to get to your individual email or call.
***We always choose homes based on the BEST possible home, NOT first come first serve. Often times, popular animals get 20+ great applications, but we can only select one.
STEP 2: Reviewing your application. We manually review applications as they come in. Please be patient and allow us 3 days to process your application. If you have not been contacted (via email or phone) after a few days, please be patient. We have volunteers who will email you about the status of an animal.
***Keep an eye out on the listing of the animal(s) you are interested in. Once an animal's listing is marked adopted, that animal is no longer available. We will follow up with an email shortly after to everyone who applied.
****Your application can be used for other animals. Please go to your confirmation email and click "Edit Form" to change the Pet Name to whatever pet you are interested in or give us a description like "black/white female kitten, 4-6 months old." Please submit another application if it has been more than a few weeks.
STEP 3: Approving your application and scheduling up an appointment. We approve one application for one animal at a time, and potentially a backup. If approved, an adoption coordinator will reach out via email to set up an appointment (Rowland Heights, CA 91748).
***We operate BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, please do not walk-in to our location without an appointment.
STEP 4: Meeting the animal(s) at your scheduled appointment and adopting if all goes well!
During the appointment, you will be able to ask any questions about the animal you are interested in as well as for advice and recommendations. Additionally, you will get to interact with them, walk them around (dogs), and spend as much time as you'd like with them to get an idea of their personalities. You may adopt the SAME DAY since you have been approved. Appointments are limited to 30 minutes for COVID precautions.
* Masks must be worn at all times. Please limit the number of people you bring.
A few select animals and home situations are eligible for a trial period, which will be specified when we approve you or during your appointment.
***We do NOT hold animals unless very specific reasons are indicated and discussed during the appointment.
